As a VP, Group Account Director, you will lead a portfolio of Promotion & Loyalty clients. This is a strategic growth role where you will guide clients toward stronger loyalty, better customer value, and measurable business impact. You will serve as a player-coach, managing your own retained accounts while developing a team of 2–4 Account Directors. The VP, Group Account Director will own client relationship and revenue goals and be responsible for managing and coordinating all client activities with Merkle’s Client Leadership, Client Services, Project Management, Strategy, and Development teams. You will work collaboratively with teams to deliver long-term strategic value and exceptional client service. For this hybrid opportunity, you will report into the SVP, Client Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of account management experience, including 4+ years leading a sales team
  • Excellent client management, presentation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Strong leadership, organization, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative and strategic solutions that balance client and agency needs, working closely with cross-functional partners
  • Build trusted, long-lasting relationships with senior client stakeholders
  • Deepen client engagement to drive retention, translate agency strategy into actionable, results-focused plans for your clients.
  • Lead and mentor your team to foster strong client relationships and outstanding service delivery
  • Immerse yourself and your team in the client’s business: market landscape, goals, challenges, and competitive environment
  • Use account planning to guide future opportunities, allocate resources effectively, and drive operational excellence
  • Understand client commercial frameworks and ensure profitable account management
  • Identify and expand new revenue opportunities while ensuring high client satisfaction
  • Oversee forecasting, monitor spend, and communicate progress clearly
