Position Highlights Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500+ employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital. Responsibilities: The Vice President of Finance is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of hospital operations. Provides leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting, patient financial services and budgeting efforts of the hospital. Serves as compliance officer for the hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • CPA, CFA, or HFMA certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in budget management, financial planning, and cost containment within a multi-hospital or health system environment.
  • Experience with healthcare reimbursement models, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and value-based care strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clinical, operational, and executive teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
