About The Position

This is a newly created position at Gentiva Hospice designed to support regional operations. The Vice President of Finance will provide leadership for the East Region. The VP Finance serves as the senior financial leader for a multi-state hospice region, providing strategic financial oversight, operational partnership, and fiscal discipline to ensure sustainable growth, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care. This role will act as a trusted advisor to regional leadership, balancing financial stewardship with Gentiva’s mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality hospice care.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in hospice reimbursement, cap management, and Medicare regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to scale financial operations in high-growth, multi-market environments, including de novos and acquisitions.
  • Advanced skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support rapid growth and changing census dynamics.
  • Strong understanding of clinical and operational drivers of financial performance (census, LOS, staffing, productivity).
  • Experience identifying and mitigating financial, reimbursement, and operational risks in regulated healthcare settings.
  • Experience presenting financial results, risks, and recommendations to senior and executive leadership.
  • Strong judgment and discretion when navigating sensitive financial and operational matters.
  • Proficiency with financial systems, analytics, and performance dashboards to drive timely decision-making.
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive finance leadership experience in a multi-state healthcare organization; strong preference for experience in home-based care.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and manage complex regional P&Ls.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and executive communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills; excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
