About The Position

The VP Finance/Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial planning and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, driving process improvements, managing internal controls, leading the budgeting and forecasting and delivering timely and accurate financial reporting. This is a high-impact leadership role that will work cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to support both B2B wholesale and DTC e-commerce growth.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive corporate accounting/finance experience, ideally in a high-growth consumer or e-commerce business
  • Deep understanding of inventory, cost accounting, and revenue recognition for omni-channel retail
  • Experience with ERP system optimization and implementations (NetSuite preferred), Shopify, and marketplace integrations (e.g., NuORDER, JOOR)
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with BI tools (Looker, Snowflake, etc.) or similar tools a plus
  • Proven ability to lead teams, streamline processes, and implement systems

  • CPA preferred
  • Big 4 or top-tier public accounting experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Own the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Coordinate annual audits and serve as primary liaison with external auditors
  • Oversee AP/AR, payroll, tax compliance, and treasury functions including 13 week cash flow forecasting
  • Manage inventory and cost accounting across multiple channels and systems (e.g., Shopify, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Reconcile B2B and B2C revenue from multiple platforms and ensure accurate COGS allocation
  • Partner with Operations to ensure seamless integration between ERP, 3PL, and e-commerce platforms
  • Provide timely and actionable insights on margins, cash flow, and working capital
  • Lead FP&A in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning with strong financial analysis and modelling skills
  • Drive efficiencies in reporting and automation as the business scales
  • Manage and mentor a small team, with plans to scale
  • Partner with HR to ensure compliance with payroll, benefits, and equity compensation
  • Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
