About The Position

The Vice President, Consumer & Market Data is responsible for the strategy, delivery, and governance of the enterprise’s foundational consumer, market, and digital interaction data platforms. This role owns the data layer that enables consumer understanding, segmentation, measurement, and decision-making across the organization, ensuring the business operates from a unified, accurate, and privacy-compliant view of consumers and markets. This executive leads the development and evolution of core data assets including the Customer Data Platform (CDP), consumer identity and consent data, market and competitive datasets, and web and app behavioral data. The role ensures these datasets are trusted, scalable, well-governed, and ready to support analytics, AI, and downstream activation teams. The VP partners closely with product, analytics, and activation leaders to ensure foundational data capabilities meet enterprise needs, while maintaining clear boundaries between data platform ownership and business use-case execution.

Requirements

  • 12–15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise data platform, data engineering, or data domain leadership roles.
  • Deep expertise in consumer data platforms and data domains, including CDP, identity resolution, consent management, market/competitive data, and large-scale behavioral datasets.
  • Proven ownership of web and app analytics data at enterprise scale, including tagging frameworks, event schemas, instrumentation standards, and data quality controls.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and security requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and how to operationalize them across global platforms.
  • Technical fluency in modern cloud data platforms, integration frameworks, and data services sufficient to lead platform roadmaps and partner with engineering teams.
  • Experience leading global, matrixed teams and operating within complex enterprise technology environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with product, analytics, and business leaders to translate requirements into scalable, reusable data foundations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance technical rigor, business needs, and regulatory constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the multi-year strategy and roadmap for consumer, market, and digital interaction data platforms, aligned to enterprise data and AI priorities.
  • Serve as the senior data partner to Commercial & Consumer Data & AI Product leadership, Marketing, Media, Digital, Regions, and Enterprise functions.
  • Act as the single accountable owner for foundational consumer and market datasets, including identity, consent, behavioral, and market intelligence data.
  • Own the strategy, standards, and governance for web and app analytics data, including event schemas, tagging frameworks, and digital instrumentation across brands and platforms.
  • Partner with Privacy, Legal, Security, and Governance teams to ensure global compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and responsible data usage.
  • Represent consumer and market data priorities in enterprise architecture, governance, and investment forums.
  • Own and manage the enterprise Consumer & Market Data portfolio, including: Customer Data Platform (CDP) – identity resolution, consent data, ingestion, profile stitching, and audience data foundations Unified Consumer Identity & Profile Data – cross-brand and cross-region consumer records Market & Competitive Data – category, brand, market sizing, and external intelligence datasets Web & Digital Interaction Data – web and app behavioral data, event-level analytics, and tagging taxonomies Segmentation & Audience Data Assets – lifecycle, behavioral, attitudinal, and need-state segmentation datasets
  • Lead global roadmaps for consumer and market data platforms, balancing scalability, cost, performance, and usability.
  • Ensure data products are designed for reuse, interoperability, quality, and AI readiness.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to deliver reliable pipelines, APIs, and data services that power downstream analytics and activation.
  • Establish and track KPIs such as data completeness, identity match rate, tagging accuracy, latency, platform adoption, and downstream consumption.
  • Enable product, analytics, and activation teams by providing high-quality, well-documented, and trusted data foundations.
  • Partner with Consumer & Marketing Data & AI Product teams to translate business requirements into scalable data capabilities.
  • Drive enterprise adoption of standardized consumer and market data through education, documentation, and enablement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on consumer data maturity, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Own enterprise standards for consumer and digital data governance, including data quality, tagging consistency, lineage, and metadata.
  • Ensure consumer and market data platforms comply with security, privacy, and responsible AI requirements.
  • Manage budgets, resourcing, and OKRs for the consumer and market data domain in partnership with Strategy & Ops and Finance.
  • Provide transparent reporting on data platform health, adoption, and business enablement impact.
  • Continuously evolve operating models, tooling, and delivery practices to improve speed, reliability, and cost efficiency
