About The Position

We’re looking for a VP Corporate Treasury to join our team! This position is integral to the function of our organization, participating in the development of the strategic and operational plans, and ensures the development of appropriate long term financial performance goals

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education in commerce, accounting, business administration, or a related field
  • 7-9+ years' job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of the credit union system and/or financial services industry
  • Detail-oriented and risk aware, contributing to the safeguarding of our company’s assets and reputation.
  • Proficient in digital literacy, including (but not limited to) critical thinking, problem solving and navigation using digital solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Chartered Financial Analyst experience would be considered an asset
  • Experience or familiarity with OSFI guidance and regulatory frameworks is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in the active management of the balance sheet
  • Manage financial risks associated with the balance sheet of Innovation, including: capital strategy, asset liability Management, cash and liquidity risk management, interest rate risk management, foreign exchange risk, and balance sheet funding
  • Develop relationships with key personnel, both internal and external to Innovation in order to continuously enhance the understanding of key risk drivers for Innovation and how those affect balance sheet as well as potential mitigating strategies
  • Actively work with internal and external parties to develop new funding sources that positively impact net margin and interest rate and liquidity risk
  • Lead the credit union's securitization and syndication programs
  • Work with internal management to enhance the internal Capital Adequacy Process (ICAAP) and develop new capital funding sources
  • Participate as a part of the Senior Leadership Team and Innovation's Strategic Financial Management (SFM) Committee
  • Act as a lead contact with external ratings agencies
