About The Position

Crete United is seeking a results-driven Head of Building Automation Controls & Energy Management to lead and scale our centralized controls platform business. You will oversee our regional installation teams and launch a centralized analytics group. You own the platform P&L, drive new service offerings, and integrate Tridium/Honeywell BMS with our ERP and utility-data systems. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations to accelerate top-line growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/engineering, Energy Management, or related field (master’s preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in building automation or energy management roles, including:
  • 5+ years managing P&L or leading business development initiatives
  • Hands-on expertise with BMS platforms
  • Proven track record advising and influencing C-suite stakeholders on multi-million-dollar investments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or scale a controls/software service line
  • Strong financial acumen: forecasting, budgeting, pricing, and margin management
  • Excellent communication skills; capable of presenting technical and business cases to executive leadership
  • Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 30 – 40%)

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, or advanced technical certification (e.g. CEM, LEED AP, PMP).
  • Prior experience launching SaaS or subscription-based services in the smart-building sector
  • Familiarity with network architecture, APIs, and cloud-based SCADA solutions
  • Proven track record in recruiting and developing high-performance engineering and analytics teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver over $100M revenue budget
  • Develop 1 – 3-year business plans, including revenue targets, margins, headcount, and capital expenditures
  • Own divisional forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance
  • Define and launch new services such as Energy Management as a Service, Data as a Service, predictive maintenance, and demand response programs
  • Create pricing models and sales tools to help customers manage their building’s energy usage
  • Standardize and optimize BMS deployments (Tridium-based, but all BMS software)
  • Integrate BMS data with internal ERP/work-order systems, and utility bill data to enable automated workflows and real-time reporting
  • Implement continuous improvement processes using real usage data, both internally and externally for customers
  • Provide matrix leadership to regional controls installation crews
  • Build & scale a high-performance business unit
  • Build relationships with BMS vendors and utility program managers
  • Cross-department collaboration both internally within the organization, and externally to install partners
  • Champion BACnet/Mobus best practice, IoT cybersecurity, and code compliance
