About The Position

The ViA Program Assistant is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day activities, such as scheduling for Meals on Wheels and/or volunteer requests for services, e.g., transportation. The ViA Program Assistant is also responsible for the record keeping and secretarial aspects of this neighbor-helping-neighbor effort. The ViA Program Assistant substitutes in the volunteer role as needed to deliver meals, transport recipients, pick-up groceries/prescriptions, etc. The ViA Program Assistant will also help to recommend resources to neighbors who call, assist in the planning and coordination of community events, and generally offer support to ViA and the Program Lead. In addition, the ViA Program Assistant will work to support existing volunteers and help train new volunteers.

Requirements

  • A working knowledge of both Microsoft Office & Google Workplace
  • A minimum of 1 - 2 Years providing customer service
  • A minimum of 1 -2 Years working in a moderate stress environment
  • Effective written communication
  • Excellent customer service
  • Software & computer proficiency
  • The ability to multitask and remain organized
  • The ability to manage time efficiently
  • The ability to work independently and work well with others
  • Understands the basic principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience both volunteering and interacting with individuals who are 55 years of age or older, are from low-income backgrounds, and/or have a disability

Responsibilities
