About The Position

LARPD is seeking a summer intern to support the LARPD Volunteer Program. Applicants should have the equivalent of one year of college credits completed toward a degree. Candidates interested in learning about recreation, volunteer management, and communications with a government agency will be given preference. The intern will be responsible for key deliverables while learning about special districts and the Livermore community. The intern will gain experience managing volunteers, learn how summer programs work in a special district, become familiar with volunteer management software and end-of-summer reports, and work closely with youth to establish work ethic, communication, and responsibility.

Requirements

• Equivalent of one year of college credits completed toward a degree
• Successfully complete a Department of Justice fingerprint clearance
• Undergo a TB test as a condition of employment

Responsibilities

• Be the point of contact for Summer Youth Volunteers
• Assist with volunteer training sessions throughout the summer
• Oversee volunteer schedule and track volunteer hours
• Create program completion documents and assist with planning an end-of-summer recognition event
• Maintain volunteer hour tracking and create an end-of-summer recap report
• Complete summer training and check-in reports
• Create and distribute volunteer completion certification with hours totals for all summer volunteers
