Habitat is an organization committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization which means that we recognize that sometimes the best candidate may have a less traditional background. We acknowledge that requirements for educational and experience minimums create invisible barriers for historically oppressed populations in pursuit of employment. Combined with our equity practices, we focus on candidates’ abilities to excel within the responsibilities of the position, based on their experience found inside and outside formal education and/or work history. We welcome applicants from all communities, and strongly encourage Black, indigenous, and people of color, women, people with disabilities, immigrants, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to apply for this position. Who You Are: You are a collaborative and systems-minded volunteer leader responsible for ensuring that volunteer engagement best practices are consistently and successfully implemented across all assigned locations. You are part of a programmatic team of three, reporting to the Director of Volunteer Programs , who sets organization-wide strategy, standards, tools, and goals. In contrast, your role is executional and relational: you ensure Habitat Team Members and their teams are fully onboarded, trained, coached, and supported to implement best practices for excellence in real, day-to-day environments. You work closely with Store Managers and Site Superintendents , who directly supervise their teams and oversee daily volunteer supervision. You do not manage on-location team members, but you are a key partner—aligning programmatic goals with site-specific realities, building shared ownership, and setting clear expectations for volunteer excellence. This role requires a reliable on-site presence, strong coaching skills, and the ability to influence and lead across teams without direct supervision. Note: We are hiring two Volunteer Program Managers (VPMs) —one focused on ReStore volunteer programs, including four retail locations, and one focused on Construction and Repair volunteer programs across multiple build sites .
