About The Position

Join Our Team as a part-time CASA Volunteer Coordinator! Are you passionate about supporting diverse populations, and making a real difference in their lives? EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 80,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated part-time Volunteer Coordinator for our Long Island Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program. Wage: $21 per hour Schedule: 28 hours per week - flexible schedule Location: Hybrid based - working from home and attending recruitment and networking events Primary Purpose of Job: The Volunteer Coordinator recruits, interviews, onboards, and trains advocates, serves as the primary point of contact for volunteer inquiries, and leads outreach efforts to increase community awareness, recruitment, and retention through multiple channels. The role also supports advocates and the CASA LI team through ongoing communication, training opportunities, and monitoring recruitment and training performance goals.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or relevant background experience in Human Resources (Recruitment), Business Administration (Marketing or Management), or Social Services

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual Spanish desired, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Represent CASA LI at fairs, expos, and networking opportunities while distributing outreach materials and developing new recruitment channels and community partnerships.
  • Actively recruit volunteers by identifying, planning, and attending community outreach, events, social media, partnerships, and spearhead other targeted recruitment strategies to increase visibility and engagement.
  • Follow up on volunteer inquiries, manage application review and interviews, make training recommendations, and oversee background checks and renewals for volunteers, staff, and board members.
  • Participate in CASA NYS Pre-Service training as the CASA LI liaison, support breakout groups, review coursework, and provide 1-on-1 make-up training as needed.
  • Evaluate volunteers throughout training, provide ongoing feedback, and coordinate with the Program Director regarding case matching.
  • Assist with onboarding, mentoring, and supporting new advocates during training periods and through completion of pre-service requirements.
  • Maintain complete, accurate volunteer files and ensure all compliance documentation is finalized in accordance with National CASA Standards and Advocates for Children CASA policies.
  • Coordinate and attend Swearing-In Ceremonies for newly trained volunteers.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate bi-monthly advocate meetings and trainings, and manage in-service training to ensure volunteers meet annual continuing education requirements.
  • Track and update the Volunteer Policy and Procedure Manual and participate in organizational activities and events as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Perform all other relevant duties as assigned by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration.
