About The Position

Under the supervision of the Vocational Training Programs Manager, the Vocational Training Programs Assistant provides overall administrative & programmatic support, as well as training & coaching support to program participants.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of direct, personal lived experience with the community behavioral health system, preferably in San Francisco.
  • HS diploma; AA degree (or higher) from an accredited institution, highly preferred.
  • Two years of administrative/clerical experience in an office setting; proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), calendaring, data input, typing speed of 50 WPM.
  • One year of experience providing vocational and support services to mental health clients or similar populations.
  • Excellent verbal, written communications; ability to interact with culturally diverse participants, staff, including those with mental health/behavioral challenges.
  • Ability to travel to different locations/work sites within the City and County of San Francisco.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SF community resources for health, mental health, substance abuse, Social Security, legal, benefits counseling, and other services, strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to applicants regarding program applications; communicate with referral sources/service providers
  • Schedule applicant interviews; conduct reference checks; coordinate with internship sites.
  • Support with intake assessments and ongoing vocational assessments.
  • Input participant/program data in the Salesforce system; run service reports.
  • Process timesheets in the online ADP payroll system.
  • Participant/program related data input & tracking.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating event operations.
  • Research community resources; update/design program information & flyers.
  • Collaborate with participants & program/site staff to determine necessary training for participants.
  • Provide job coaching support through guiding & assisting participants with developing workplace skills (e.g. task training, effective communications w/co-workers, compliance training, navigation of the work environment); communicate participant job accommodation needs to program/site staff.
  • Provide individual/group check in and program coverage when needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service training and other staff development activities.
  • Proactively identify tasks to effect optimal program operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
