About The Position

The Vocational Rehabilitation Worker provides skill/resource development, encouragement to clients as they move into vocational or community based activities of their choice; ensures that all clients receive the level of and/or have access to the services/supports they choose, and to monitor and track client progress of assigned caseload; and participates in the development of individualized rehabilitation plans. The specialized program provides a safe and therapeutic environment, facilitating a client-centered focus on recovery. Rehabilitation workers provide services which are developed to assist individuals in reaching their optimal level of community integration.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Higher Level of Education
  • Two (2) years’ experience in human services, must include (1) year of experience in Mental Health direct service.
  • Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
  • Customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic Office Equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc.
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and various software programs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program.
  • Act 33 Clearance with renewal
  • Act 34 Clearance with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • Valid Driver’s License (if out of state hire, the record report from applicable state’s driver’s license department is required)
  • Child mandated court Reporting Training within 30 days of hire or transfer
  • Must obtain Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) within two years of hire or transfer

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Clubhouse Model and adhere to Clubhouse International standards
  • Follows program policies and procedures and complies with safety standards
  • Ensures the security of the program’s property.
  • Maintains certifications or trainings as required by the program.
  • Engages members in the different work units of the Clubhouse.
  • Interact with members in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Work side by side with members in completing the work within the Clubhouse.
  • Engages members in social activities.
  • Maintains accurate records and completes necessary documentation as required by the program.
  • Train, support, and provide coverage for members in the transitional employment program.
  • Drives agency vehicles when necessary, 14 passenger van
  • Maintain assigned caseload
  • Attend monthly staff meeting at West Place Clubhouse
  • Engagement of members in the Clubhouse
  • Document after each session a note that describes how it helps each member work towards his or her goal.
  • Participate in a 2 week Clubhouse training
  • Other duties as assigned.
