Our Vocational Educational Specialist position has a flexible 20 hours per week schedule and is located in Port Henry, NY.

Requirements

• Education: Master’s preferred, Bachelor’s with relevant experience accepted.
• Experience: Experience working with youth with mental health challenges and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. Knowledge of educational systems, vocational services, and community resources.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience collaborating with school districts, BOCES, or ACCESS-VR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized vocational and educational plans including goals and linkages to support and resources.
• Support youth in identifying and pursuing career goals, training opportunities, and further educational pathways.
• Advocate for the implementation and/or continuation of 504 Plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
