This role focuses on building strong, long-lasting relationships with customers and teammates, and supporting business development efforts with steel fabricators, engineers, architects, and other partners. This role requires in office presence, a willingness to travel, reliable means to do so, and the ability to work more than 40 hours per week as needed. Key responsibilities include maintaining the highest standards of service through professional, informative, and timely written and verbal communication with internal and external customers. The Sales Representative is also responsible for accurately estimating joist and deck requirements from contract documents and assisting with the coordination of engineering, fabrication, and delivery activities. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Experience in reading architectural and structural drawings, project specifications, along with a general understanding of the construction process
  • Experience in customer service and sales related roles
  • Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance
  • Willingness to relocate to a Nucor facility or District Sales Office in the future

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year or 4-year college degree
  • Two or more years of experience in the steel joist and deck industry
