Millbrook School seeks a visual arts teacher as a leave replacement for the first semester (September - December) of the 2026-2027 academic year. This teacher would be the master teacher in Millbrook’s sequence of drawing, painting, and mixed media courses, culminating in an honors studio course. Candidates should be knowledgeable about both contemporary art and art history. Three or more years of previous teaching experience is preferred. This teacher will steward two studio art spaces, a traditional drawing classroom and Millbrook’s senior studios. These individual studio spaces are home to Millbrook’s most advanced drawing and painting students. Drawing and painting is a flourishing program at Millbrook that helps students discover and develop a personal aesthetic. The teacher will join a vibrant, highly collaborative arts department at the Holbrook Arts Center, where all visual and performing arts are brought together under one roof. A bachelor’s degree in visual arts or a related field and strong communication skills are required. Coaching & teaching experience are preferred. In addition to teaching four sections (or the equivalent), this position may include coaching or supervising an afternoon program (or the equivalent). Full-time faculty members are also expected to participate in community service, evening responsibilities, activities, assemblies, and attend required meetings and workshops. The primary goal of a teaching faculty member is to ensure that each student reaches their full potential . Housing may be provided and would entail residential life duties. The annual salary range for this teaching position is $41,000 - $90,000. When determining placement in the salary range, Millbrook School considers total teaching experience, number of years working at Millbrook School, and other factors permitted by law.
