About The Position

Visitor Experience Face Painter – Spring 2026 Overview: The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden (CZBG) is seeking enthusiastic, outgoing individuals ready to create unforgettable experiences for our visitors. As a member of the Visitor Experience Department, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful impact on hundreds of thousands of guests, both from the Greater Cincinnati area and around the globe. Our team works together to deliver an exceptional, INSPIRED Visitor Experience every day. What Makes a Great Face Painter: A friendly, empathetic attitude and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Basic artistic experience is a plus. Enthusiasm and energy to create a welcoming atmosphere for children and families. Eagerness to initiate friendly interactions with guests. A willingness to adapt and learn on the job. Previous experience with Point-of-Sale stations and functions is a plus but not required. A passion for wildlife and connecting people with nature. We are looking for Ambassadors anticipating working Spring 2026. The estimated start date for this position will be March 1st. There will be opportunities to continue employment into the summer and beyond! Orientations will be held on a rolling basis. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: As a Face Painter, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our guests have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable visit. Your duties will include: With Positivity and Energy, seeks opportunities to create INSPIRED visitor experiences. Participates in day-to-day operation of Face Painting team, utilizing various equipment, such as airbrush, face paint, stencils, air compressors, etc. No professional experience is required; training is provided on Zoo-approved designs and equipment. Bring joy to visitors with creative face paint designs. Works events at the zoo that include Face Painting, such as birthday parties and public/private events. Adheres to standard operating procedures and training. Communicates effectively with visitors, team members, and management. Supports management with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

16 years of age or older. (Minors will be required to provide a work permit when applicable.)
Constantly work outdoors in all climates and weather conditions with prolonged stationary and standing positions.
Move, transport or position 35 lbs. unassisted.
Communicate with the public and other zoo departments in a positive, friendly manner.
Must be trainable on cash handling and maintain proper skill level and consistent product for our visitors.
Use of a variety of tools and equipment, which require dexterity and movement of hands.
Be timely and reliable in attendance and performance.
Demonstrates an ability to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules.
Must be able to complete the requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
