About The Position

The work will involve nanomaterials generally, including layered materials and thin diamond films. Student will engage in hands-on projects in the center for nanoscale materials (CNM) for materials synthesis, fabrication and characterization as well as some simulation studies in line with their background and the research needs of the project. The CNM staff including Dr. Sumant will help in mentoring students and helping them with the research activities at the CNM.

Requirements

  • Experience in working in the cleanroom environment as well as hands-on experience in using few characterization and synthesis tools including scanning electron microscope, Raman spectroscopy and metal thin film deposition systems.
  • The student should be familiar with statistical analysis, graph plotting and writing a research report based on experimental work they are involved in.
  • Good presentation skill in presenting their results and good communication skill.
  • It is important that student will follow all safety training required to work in the cleanroom.
  • Must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins
