The intern will collaborate with a team of research scientists and engineers on projects focused on understanding and preventing failures in drivetrain and other tribological components. These projects will involve developing test methods to evaluate material failure in tribological systems, conducting experimental investigations using measuring microscopes and profilometry, and setting up laboratory experiments to simulate real-world conditions. The primary goal is to replicate failure mechanisms in a controlled environment, analyze material behavior, and generate insights that contribute to improving the durability and reliability of engineering components. Through hands-on experience with advanced characterization techniques and experimental setups, the intern will gain valuable skills in materials science, tribology, and failure analysis.
