About The Position

The Visiting Student Program Coordinator works within the Global Learning &Partnerships unit to provide operational and student support for short-termincoming international programs coordinated through the Center for GlobalEngagement (CGE), including the KyungDong University (KDU) program as a primaryfocus. The role supports student engagement, housing coordination, programlogistics, and communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensuresmooth program delivery and positive student experiences. This position requiresstrong organizational skills, cross-cultural awareness, and the ability torespond independently to program needs. This position reports to the AssistantDirector of Global Learning & Partnerships. --Work Schedule and Program Structure-- Work Hours: This wage position averages approximately 29 hours per weekannually, not to exceed 1500 hours within a 12-month period. During activeprogram periods, hours may temporarily increase up to 40 hours per week based onoperational needs. Appointment Period: This is a year-round position supporting ongoing short-terminternational programs. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, oruniversity break periods when student cohorts are in residence. Time off iscoordinated with supervisors to ensure program coverage. Program Structure: Workload follows a cohort-based model, with responsibilitiesvarying across pre-arrival preparation, active program delivery, andpost-program wrap-up phases. On-Call Responsibilities: Limited on-call responsibilities are expected duringactive program periods to assist with urgent student or housing-relatedsituations.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and university break periods during active program cycles.
  • Experience coordinating programs, events, or projects requiring logistical planning and communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and program logistics in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience providing direct support or services to students, customers, or program participants.
  • Experience coordinating housing, facilities, or residential programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in student affairs, international education, or related areas would be beneficial.
  • Korean language ability considered a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with student arrival logistics, orientation sessions, and ongoing support.
  • Serve as a campus and community resource for visiting students.
  • Maintain regular communication with students and support cultural and social programming.
  • Lead campus tours and assist with program activities and excursions.
  • Respond to student concerns and assist with urgent or emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Coordinate student housing check-in and check-out processes.
  • Serve as a primary contact for housing-related questions and concerns.
  • Ensure apartments are prepared prior to each cohort’s arrival.
  • Conduct periodic inspections to support safety, cleanliness, and program standards.
  • Coordinate with internal partners and vendors to address housing or facilities issues.
  • Assist with program planning, logistics coordination, and administrative tracking.
  • Support communication between CGE staff, visiting students, and partner institutions.
  • Assist with scheduling, program coordination, and operational tasks for short-term programs including KDU.
  • Provide additional support to other short-term incoming programs as capacity allows.
