About The Position

The College of Dentistry is seeking applications for a Visiting Scholar. This visiting scholar position will work on their own funded research project as well as an NIH funded project, both focusing on normal and pathological development of mouse periodontal tissues and interventions to improve periodontal healing.

Responsibilities

• Performing animal procedures, harvesting tissues, and analyzing samples by micro-computed tomography, histology, and microscopy
• Maintaining mouse breeding colonies, performing injections, surgeries, and other procedures, and collecting tissue samples
• Organizing data into publications and presentations for conferences
• Leading and assisting the principal investigator with preparation of proposals for future projects
