About The Position

Designs and delivers instruction in undergraduate Chemistry and non-majors courses offered by the School. Participates in all department functions and various school, and University-wide committees and activities as needed. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Prepares lessons and delivers instruction for day, evening, and weekend courses for undergraduates. Teaches (five sections per semester: two lectures and three laboratory courses or three lectures and two laboratory courses) that includes Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, General Chemistry I and II, Forensic Science, and a general education physical science course. | Daily 60% Adheres to the established class schedule and office hours on a daily basis. Submits book requests, syllabi, grades, assessments, and other required paperwork and reports in a timely manner. | Daily 20% Remains knowledgeable of current research activities in the discipline by participating in conferences, publishing, and maintaining collaborative research relations. | Monthly 5% Participates in curriculum and program development and coordinates curriculum revision with other academic programs. | Monthly 5% Advises undergraduate students for successful BS degree completion and pursuit of post baccalaureate training opportunities. | Monthly 5% Participates in departmental, school, and university meetings and academic activities. | Monthly 5% Maintain departmental instrumentation to include GC, GC/MS, LC/MS, HPLC , IR, UV/ VIS | As needed Other duties as assigned by the Dean and Department Chair. | As needed POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDE : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
