Visiting Assistant Professor, Chemistry
About The Position
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Natural and Health Sciences at the University of Tampa is seeking candidates for a full-time, one-year visiting position at the Assistant Professor level starting in August 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a total of 27 contact hours during the 2026-2027 academic year. Contact hours are determined in a 1:1 relationship with in-class hours. The ideal candidate may teach a variety of courses with an emphasis on general chemistry classroom (lecture) and laboratory courses serving natural and health science majors and possibly other courses in chemistry; the teaching assignment will be made by the department based on student needs and the hire’s expertise. Service to the University and professional community and scholarship are encouraged but not required.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or a related discipline is required.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching experience is preferred.
