About The Position

The Department of English in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer. This is a part-time (25%) non-tenure accruing position with a 9-month appointment (September to May) at the Higher Education Center in McAllen. The anticipated start date for the position is January 12, 2026. Visiting Lecturers hold non-tenured appointments with primary responsibility for teaching. We welcome applicants from any field of study within English, but strong teaching records in first-year writing and/or technical writing are particularly valued. Teaching assignments will mostly include courses in first-year writing, technical writing, and writing about literature, with the strong possibility for teaching upper-division courses on an as-needed basis and in relation to individual candidates' expertise. Texas A&M's English department is home to an undergraduate major and minor, a minor in health humanities, a professional writing minor, a minor in science fiction studies, and MA and PhD programs.
