About The Position

The Department of Decision Sciences and Economics at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) is seeking applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track, Visiting Instructor of Decision Sciences/Economics, starting Fall 2026. This role is primarily teaching-focused, offering a significant opportunity to contribute to applied economic research and regional engagement through the South Texas Economic Development Center (STEDC). The successful candidate will provide instruction for undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Business Economics or related business disciplines. Additionally, they will contribute to policy-relevant, community-centered research that aligns with the College’s mission. The position is located at the Corpus Christi campus. The standard teaching load is 2 courses per semester, with a potential course release of up to 3 courses per semester to support STEDC activities, depending on assigned responsibilities and available funding. Teaching responsibilities may include a combination of in-person, online, and hybrid course delivery. The TAMU-CC College of Business is accredited by AACSB International in both business and accounting, serving students across its Corpus Christi Island Campus, the RELLIS Campus (Brazos Valley), and online. Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a Doctoral Research Institution established in 1947, known for its academic reputation, faculty, and degree programs within the Texas A&M System. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution.
  • Advanced ABD candidates will be considered; the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated teaching ability or instructional experience, along with strong organizational and written communication skills.
  • Experience with institutional budgeting processes, grant and contract administration, or applied research support.
  • Experience in project management, program coordination, or operational support in an academic, government, or nonprofit setting.
  • Experience with data analysis, visualization, or reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Python, or R).
  • Familiarity with economic modeling tools such as IMPLAN, or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Business Economics or related business disciplines, maintaining high-quality instruction and active student engagement.
  • Support STEDC applied economic research, including economic impact analysis, project coordination, preparation of reports and presentations, and engagement with regional partners and stakeholders.
  • Assist with project budgeting, purchasing, documentation, grant and contract-related activities, and outreach and dissemination of research findings.
