The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is a premier educational institution that prides itself on academic excellence, research, and community engagement and is actively seeking a Visiting Instructor in English to join our team! UCCS offers a diverse and inclusive learning environment that fosters innovation, growth, and the holistic development of its students. At the base of the Rocky Mountains, Colorado Springs is captivated by its stunning landscapes, making it a paradise for nature lovers. This city is more than its scenery—a mosaic of history, arts, and a vibrant tech scene. We invite you to join a community that cherishes outdoor adventure as much as forward-thinking growth, an exceptional setting for both career and lifestyle. The First-Year Rhetoric and Writing (FYRW) Program teaches core writing courses that are part of UCCS’s general education program, the Compass Curriculum. The Program delivers ENGL 1300, 1305, 1308, 1310, and 1410. The courses are grounded in rhetorical theory and writing process. In them students develop critical reading, writing and thinking skills. The courses serve two complementary purposes—to prepare writers for academic reading and writing assignments at the university level, and to introduce students to rhetoric and writing as a field of study itself. The Visiting Instructor will teach 24 credit hours within FYRW for academic year 2026-2027.
