About The Position

The Department of Social Work at Skidmore College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor position in Social Work for the 2026/2027 academic year beginning August 2026. This is a one-year appointment with responsibilities in teaching.

Requirements

• Candidates must have an MSW with two years post-MSW experience
• Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education
• Experience with inclusive practices both in and out of the classroom
• Demonstrate teaching excellence through evidence such as teaching evaluations, peer evaluations, and sample course materials

Nice To Haves

• Those with a doctorate are preferred.
• We seek candidates with recent teaching experience, preferably who have taught in the past two years.
• Flexibility and the ability to teach courses across our CSWE-accredited program is strongly preferred
• Experience with student-centered practices

Responsibilities

• Teach 18 credits (5-6 courses)
