About The Position

The Theatre Department at DAVIDSON COLLEGE seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor as a Theatre Producer for a one-year, non-renewable position. Responsibilities include teaching 1 course in dramatic literature, 1 course in acting, 1 course in Introduction to Theatre (or similar) and a sabbatical replacement of the Producer in the spring semester after a period of shadowing the current Producer in the fall. Producer duties include (but are not limited to): serving as liaison between creative and production teams, overseeing the budgets and timelines for two departmental projects, supervising and mentoring student stage managers and backstage crew, facilitating daily communication to ensure production needs are met, leading production meetings and technical rehearsals, and marketing shows in conjunction with the Department Coordinator. The Theatre Department offers a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring or minoring in Theatre. Salary competitive. Requirements: M.F.A .in Theatre or equivalent plus two years of collegiate teaching experience or equivalent professional producing/directing credits. Requirements

  • M.F.A .in Theatre or equivalent
  • Two years of collegiate teaching experience or equivalent professional producing/directing credits
