About The Position

The Department of Psychology at Bucknell University invites applications for a one-year, Visiting Assistant Professor position with a focus on sociocultural influences on behavior (open to all areas of psychology) beginning August 2026. The ideal candidate will be a teacher-scholar with a demonstrated interest in working with a diverse student population at a primarily undergraduate liberal arts institution. As part of the six-course load (three courses each semester). The successful candidate will be expected to teach Introductory Psychology, Research Methods, and some combination of courses that address culture, context, health, distress, and/or wellbeing. Strong applications will address how the candidate’s experiences, knowledge, skills, and/or past accomplishments will contribute to inclusive teaching. Bucknell University is a private, highly ranked, primarily undergraduate, national liberal arts institution that also offers strong professional programs in engineering, management, education, and music. Bucknell is located in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, on the banks of the Susquehanna River. The Lewisburg area offers a combination of outdoor recreation opportunities and small-town amenities.
