About The Position

The School of Communications at Webster University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Media Studies, in the Department of Communications & Journalism, to begin August 2026. We are seeking candidates with a broad perspective and expertise that complements that of our existing faculty, who are excited by the pace of change in the field, and who bring new perspectives to discussions of curriculum revision and strategic planning. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses as appropriate, advise students, provide faculty service, and engage in professional development, including scholarship and creative activity. The standard teaching load is four courses per semester with reductions possible for assistant professors and those with strong track records of productivity in research or creative activity, or substantial service or administrative loads. This is an in-person full-time faculty appointment on the Webster Groves campus in Saint Louis, Missouri.
