Cornerstone Care is seeking a Vision Receptionist for our Uniontown Office to answer incoming calls, perform efficient and accurate processing of patient visits, including insurance verification, registration, scheduling, payments and checkout while maintaining positive patient/visitor relations. They will also assist the doctor with patient intake, pre-screening, and fittings for frames and contact lenses. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Communicates effectively with a broad range of patients, community and organizational members. Must be highly organized and able to multi-task as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent with related training or commensurate experience.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Ability to work in settings independent of immediate supervision.
  • Proficiency in office computing and information management technology.
  • Ability to accurately record data.
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate and effectively disseminate information.

Responsibilities

  • Answer Phones and Schedule Appointments
  • Check Patients In and Out
  • Check Insurance Eligibility (figure out copays for glasses and contacts)
  • Collect All Patient Information
  • Assist Patients with Contact Fittings and Frame and Lens selections
  • Measure for Lenses
  • Collect Copayments
  • Enter Lab Orders into NextGen Optical Management (making adjustments in billing for any discounts the insurance company allows for)
  • Prepare Frames for Shipment to Lab
  • Deliver Packages to the Post Office
  • Enter Claims for Frames and Lenses on Insurance Portals
  • Receive Completed Lab Orders from the Lab and Notify Patients
  • Enter all Glasses into Optical Management when Received from other Offices
  • Dispense Glasses to Patients and Make Frame Adjustments as Necessary for perfect fit, Note Dispense into EPM and Optical Management
  • Repair Patient Glasses when Possible (screws, nose pads, adjust temples)
  • Keep Frame Boards Stocked
  • Sanitize Frames after Patient Use
  • Contact Vendors for Replacement Frames
  • Order Contact Lenses
  • Assure all Charges are Entered Correctly
  • Run and Reconcile Daily Reports
  • Balance Cash Box Daily and Make Deposits Weekly
  • Make Daily Confirmation Calls to Patients
  • Scan all Patient Documents into Patient Charts
  • Submit multiple insurances on the insurance websites for quicker payment.
  • Manipulate the payment into the Nextgen system.
  • Correct billing issues within the Nextgen system as directed by billing.
  • Contacting the Labs to verify and correct issues.
  • Work Directly with Billing Department to correct any billing issues
