Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency; required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a vision clinic preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conducts pre-exam screenings, rooms patients, obtains histories and vital signs, and accurately documents in the electronic medical record.
- Assists the telehealth Ophthalmologist during examinations and supports patient discharge.
- Follows all standard precautions, protocols, and infection-control procedures.
- Provides basic patient education and distributes age- and learning-appropriate materials.
- Explains laboratory or diagnostic testing and prepares patients for procedures as needed.
- Manages the vision schedule, ensuring appointments are confirmed, rescheduled, or cancelled appropriately.
- Verifies prior authorizations and insurance coverage before patient visits.
- Coordinates referrals to outside clinics.
