About The Position

Job Summary: Eurofins Viral Safety is seeking an entry level Associate Scientist to join their team in Lancaster, PA. Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm Job duties include, but are not limited to: Perform aseptic tissue culture techniques such as expansion and seeding of adherent and suspension tissue culture lines, including numerous mammalian and insect culture cell lines. Perform common lab skills include microscopy, aseptic media preparation, mechanical pipetting, serial dilution preparations, and basic calculations including the use of Excel spreadsheets. Perform virology techniques including inoculation of tissue culture systems with various model viruses, plaque assays, focus assays, and other secondary techniques such as hemagglutination/hemadsorption assays and immunofluorescence staining Review and evaluate raw data for acceptability Set up and validate new analytical or related processes used by the department Document work as required for GMP compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular or cell biology, or-related field or other related degree concentration,
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
