About The Position
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Virtualization Engineer to join our team in Radford, VA. The Virtualization Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain VMware-based hyperconverged environments for hosting Army enterprise and tactical applications, ensuring security, scalability, and performance across global sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an IT-related field
- Senior-level experience with VMware suite (ESXi, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Foundations, ARIA Automation)
- Strong automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills
- Proficiency in troubleshooting across network, storage, server, and applications
- Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M IA Tech Level II certification
- DoD Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AECC architecture in collaboration with government engineers
- Deploy and sustain VMware products using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Administer VMware components, including patching and upgrades
- Monitor virtualization resource utilization and recommend capacity adjustments
- Harden VMware products per cybersecurity controls and best practices
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for hosting platform issues
- Create and maintain system diagrams, network topology, and process documentation
