About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic seasonal Vineyard Worker to join our team! This individual is responsible for performing a variety of essential tasks in the vineyard, contributing to the overall health and productivity of our vines. This is a physically demanding position requiring a strong work ethic and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Requirements

  • Must have a general understanding of outdoor grounds maintenance.
  • Must have knowledge and the ability to operate tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors for extended periods, in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the vineyard.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous vineyard or agricultural experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Vineyard Maintenance: Including pruning, canopy management (leaf removal, shoot thinning, etc.), trellising, and weed control (manual and mechanical).
  • Planting & Training: Assisting with planting new vines and training young vines to grow properly.
  • Harvesting: Participating in the grape harvest, including hand-picking grapes, sorting, and transporting them.
  • Irrigation: Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems, ensuring vines receive adequate water.
  • Pest & Disease Management: Assisting with the application of pesticides and fungicides (following safety protocols and training provided), and monitoring for signs of pests and diseases.
  • Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining vineyard equipment, such as tractors, sprayers, and mowers (training provided).
  • General Vineyard Labor: Performing other related tasks as assigned, such as cleaning, repairing fences, and maintaining vineyard grounds.
  • Safety: Adhering to all safety procedures and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Other tasks as assigned.
