About The Position

The Videography Intern will play a vital role in capturing and creating high-quality video content that elevates the Quad City Steamwheelers brand. This includes producing social media videos, in-game entertainment elements, hype reels, and player/team highlights. The intern will work directly with the Creative and Content Director and collaborate with the General Manager and marketing team to bring creative ideas to life. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced professional sports environment while building a diverse video portfolio.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of football and game flow preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Premiere Pro; After Effects and Photoshop a plus).
  • Understanding of current and emerging social media trends (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, etc.).
  • Strong storytelling, editing, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication, creativity, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Access to personal video equipment (camera, gimbal, microphone, etc.) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Film and edit player highlights, interviews, promotional pieces, and sponsor videos for use across digital platforms including social media, in-arena video boards, and the team website.
  • Capture and edit game-day footage into engaging highlight reels and recap videos.
  • Assist in creating video content for in-game entertainment, including hype videos, fan engagement features, and special promotions.
  • Organize, log, and maintain a video archive of all content for future use and reference.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing and creative teams to brainstorm new content ideas and storytelling angles.
  • Capture proof of performance materials for sponsor fulfillment and end-of-season reports.
  • Support the game-day production team during home games, including pre-game setup and live content capture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in a timely and professional manner.
