About The Position

Performs highly technical professional work in the overall maintenance, monitoring, testing, and repairing of software and hardware components in the video management systems. This position is a key function in ensuring that COTA can obtain reliable video and analytics to make informed decisions and enhance the customer experience. This individual will provide regular updates and reports to the Manager, Risk Systems and Electronic Surveillance through daily contact and communication. Perform other duties in alignment with the COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision to Move Every Life Forward.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in related field and/or a minimum of four (4) years of experience performing maintenance on IP based surveillance system hardware, and video management systems.
  • Ohio Driver's License required.

Nice To Haves

  • An electrical background and mobile video surveillance systems experience is preferred.
  • A+, Network+, or any advanced Microsoft or Cisco certification (MCSE or CCNA) preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes security system applications and equipment to monitor performance, perform function testing, and execute programming tasks.
  • Communicates directly with manager and assists with system and hardware upgrades; provides status reports; resolves technical issues; and ensures compliance with Risk Assessment Department standards.
  • Develops documentation to administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the operability of the organization's security systems hardware components.
  • Work with the Manager, Risk Systems and Electronic Surveillance to investigate and recommend new and emerging technologies for improving COTA's operations.
  • Maintains the confidential nature of investigations, photographs, and other media used in COTA matters.
  • Performs light electrical work in support of security system installations and maintenance, including running and terminating low-voltage cabling, installing conduit, mounting and wiring camera hardware, and ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes and organizational safety standards.
  • Performs emergency repairs of critical video surveillance hardware, as needed.
  • Performs preventive maintenance of hardware components within core security systems and keeps complete and accurate maintenance records of all tasks performed.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity of IP based cameras and network video recorders.
