About The Position

The Video Storyteller/Filmmaker creatively captures and clearly communicates the mission and vision of Canyon Ridge.

Requirements

  • Storytelling: Ability to extract powerful narratives that resonate emotionally and spiritually with audiences.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in video production tools (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, etc.).
  • Discipleship Awareness: Understanding of disciple-making movements and how to contextualize stories within that framework.
  • Collaboration: Strong team player with cross-functional communication skills.
  • Self-Leadership: Able to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and respond to feedback with humility and ownership.
  • Deep personal relationship with Jesus and a commitment to living as a disciple-maker.
  • Alignment with the church’s mission, vision, and theological convictions.
  • Willingness to be on mission within the church and beyond (e.g., small groups, outreach, DMM practices).

Responsibilities

  • Storytelling and Content Creation (40%).
  • Identify, capture, and produce short-form and long-form videos that showcase stories of life change, disciple-making, and community partnership.
  • Lead pre-production (scripting/interview prep), production (filming/audio), and post-production (editing, sound design, color grading) processes.
  • Ensure stories align with Canyon Ridge’s DNA.
  • Collaborative Planning (35%).
  • Work closely with the Creative Director and ministry leaders to strategically and creatively plan content around sermon series, campaigns, events, and movement efforts while upholding creative brand and excellence.
  • Participate in weekly creative and communications meetings to pitch new story ideas and provide updates on current projects.
  • Adapt video content for various platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the communications team to ensure content reaches its intended audience with maximum impact.
  • Ministry Engagement (15%).
  • Attend disciple-making gatherings and local community events to stay immersed in the movement, build relational equity, and capture authentic stories.
  • Lead a video volunteer team, invest meaningfully and relationally, and equip the technical/creative for this team.
  • Stewardship of Equipment and Assets (10%).
  • Maintain and organize video equipment, manage digital asset library, and ensure safe storage of footage.
