About The Position

Video Production Specialist (Equipment & Engineering Support) Overview The Production Specialist (Equipment & Engineering Support) is a hands-on technical team member based at a client site. This role manages the daily flow of gear, maintains accurate tracking and inventory, coordinates maintenance and repairs, and supports smooth day-to-day operations so crews can execute efficiently. In addition, the role provides technical troubleshooting, assists with facility and infrastructure projects, and provides webcast engineering support as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in a related field, and professional experience in equipment management, studio operations, production support, engineering support, or equipment logistics
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • Able to lift and move production equipment safely and consistently (as required by the role)
  • Comfortable using tracking/logistics tools (Cheqroom, Monday.com) and maintaining accurate records
  • Willingness to work extended hours when needed to complete time-sensitive tasks
  • Professional communication skills with internal teams and client-site stakeholders

  • Prior experience supporting production environments; corporate environment experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Flow and Scheduling Support Manage daily check-in/check-out of equipment
  • Assess and fulfill equipment scheduling requests accurately and on time
  • Ensure gear is staged, available, and ready based on upcoming needs
  • Communicate equipment availability, conflicts, and outages to the Production Manager and relevant team members
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting Serve as an on-site technical helper for production teams.
  • Assist with diagnosing and resolving common technical issues (playback/monitoring issues, basic network, signal-flow problems, etc.)
  • Assist engineering staff with webcast-related setup and execution (as trained)
  • Help prepare and verify signal flow: video, audio, comms, confidence monitoring, and recording/streaming paths
  • Infrastructure and Technical Projects Support technical projects that improve the studio, including: Cable pulling, labeling, and documentation updates Basic rack cleanup and signal-flow organization Helping standardize recurring setups Assist with technical quality-control items
  • Inventory Management and Tracking Track equipment movement using software application
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support periodic audits/reconciliation
  • Ensure equipment is properly labeled, stored, and returned to its designated location
  • Identify missing items and follow up until resolved
  • Studio and Equipment Space Organization Keep the studio and equipment room clean and organized on a consistent schedule
  • Maintain clear storage standards so gear is easy to find, return, and verify
  • Monitor consumables and shop supplies; request restocks as needed
  • Maintenance, Repairs, and Readiness Maintain routine cleaning and maintenance schedules for camera gear and accessories
  • Identify damaged gear and determine whether repairs can be handled internally or require third-party service
  • Coordinate third-party repairs, track status, and ensure gear returns to service
  • Perform basic repairs when appropriate and order parts as needed
  • Ensure batteries are charged, firmware/basic functionality checks are completed as required, and gear is reliably "ready to go"
  • Process and Accountability Follow and improve repeatable processes for checkout, return, and verification
  • Maintain documentation as needed (maintenance logs, repair records, inventory lists)
  • Proactively identify recurring issues (damage trends, missing items, storage problems) and recommend solutions
  • Production Support Serve as a Project Lead on certain projects relating to equipment rentals and on-set production, acting as a Grip or Grip Truck Driver
  • Ability and willingness to cross-train on production roles as needed
