About The Position

We're hiring a Video Production Manager to lead and execute video productions from development through delivery. This is a hands-on, operational role with significant travel. You will be accountable for how the work gets made: budgets, schedules, logistics, crew leadership, client communication, execution, and delivery. You will manage pre-production planning, run on-set operations, and direct post-production workflows. You will also be responsible for assigning and coordinating internal production resources-editors, motion designers, camera operators, designers, and project managers-ensuring the right people are aligned to the right work. In addition to managing individual productions, you will own the department's master production calendar, ensuring visibility, resource allocation, deadlines, and scheduling are accurate across all active and upcoming video projects. While not required, experience shooting video, capturing photography, or editing is considered a strong plus for smaller, agile production days. Your mandate is simple: prepare thoroughly, execute cleanly, control the variables, and deliver at a consistently high standard.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in video production management, line producing, or similar production operations roles.
  • Proven ability to run shoots independently-logistics, crew management, client interaction, and problem solving.
  • Experience managing internal production resources and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong budget management, scoping, and cost-control experience.
  • Deep understanding of pre-production, on-set execution, and post-production workflows.
  • A portfolio, reel, or website showcasing work you have produced, managed, or directly contributed to. (Required.)
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort managing expectations.
  • Ability to travel 60-70% and adapt quickly to changing field conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Shooting or editing experience is not required but is considered a strong plus for small-scale or quick-turn productions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full production management for all assigned video projects, from concept to final delivery.
  • Line produce single- and multi-day shoots across the U.S. (60-70% travel required).
  • Create and manage budgets, schedules, call sheets, shot lists, production plans, and wrap documentation.
  • Own the department's master production calendar, ensuring resource alignment, scheduling clarity, and long-range planning across all video work.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage crews, talent, locations, permits, and vendors.
  • Secure releases, permits, insurance requirements, and compliance documentation.
  • Oversee equipment planning, rentals, and readiness.
  • Run on-set operations: directing crew, managing client presence, troubleshooting challenges in real time.
  • Assign and manage internal production resources (editors, designers, motion artists, camera ops) based on project needs and capacity.
  • Determine when to use internal staff vs. external freelancers and manage those engagements end-to-end.
  • Ensure smooth post-production workflows, including edit assignments, review rounds, QC, and final delivery.
  • Maintain rigorous operational documentation, project tracking, and risk management.
  • Mentor junior team members and uphold best practices across all stages of production.

Benefits

  • Opportunities to grow your skillset through training, new challenges, and learning experiences.
  • A team that's got your back and is ready to help you thrive.
  • A workplace culture that values intelligence, ambition, authenticity, and a willingness to learn.
