The Junior Audio Engineer reports to the Director of Media Services Operations and is responsible for the operation of audio for all University classes and events. This includes providing oversight of audio equipment, staff operators, administration, and technical performance of all University audio event systems. Essential Functions: Critical features of this job are described below and may be subject to change at any time, due to reasonable accommodation or other reason. Provide videographer skill and expertise to edit and capture visual concepts, provide creative input, establish standards, workflows, protocols and produce national network quality multimedia packages for Regent University. Video Lead to collaborate and work underneath the Digital Media Producer. Video Lead to operate state-of-the-art video cameras, field and studio lighting, grip, and audio production equipment. Editor to operated editing equipment and related software. Essential duties: Serve as primary videographer for video projects. Record and capture national network quality location and soundstage video productions as a member of a production team. Record and capture proper camera video levels utilizing scopes and monitors. Perform sequencing composing shots and collaborating with Producer and other members of the Creative Team to capture different camera position setups for project visions and consistency of footage. Identify, analyze, and operate lighting fixtures and grip equipment to assist in achieving the desired look to compliment the project narratives and visual style. Record and capture proper field audio mic and native gain levels and make timely decisions regarding proper microphone equipment and accessories needed. Edit 4K and higher resolution video, images, and accompanying audio in relation to the desired production goal. Ensure quality control and quality assurance is met throughout each assigned project. Export assigned projects for delivery and finishing. Provide guidance and direction to videographer and other video team members. Direct and oversee editing projects, develop innovative concepts, and mentor junior editor(s). Providing guidance and expertise before projects are uploaded for review. Serve as on set director when assigned. Actively research and develop concepts, collaborate with scriptwriter and video team members on development. Actively collaborate with video team members during project pre-production stages. Establish and maintain a creative partnership within the department. Attend and actively participate in location scouts for production determination needs alongside the Producer. Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively toward a timely resolution. Keep knowledge and skills up to date on industry trends, equipment, practices, and new technological innovations related to all areas of production. Maintain consistent Regent branding across all projects according to the designated delivery platform for the assigned project. Assist in maintaining marketing’s photo, video and audio equipment and perform regular inventory checks. Manage and maintain video footage and project assets according to the video archival process. Collaborate with student workers and graduate assistances. Serve University Marketing Department as requested. Assumes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
