About The Position

About this role The Video Engineer (V1) collaborates with Event Producers, Technical Directors (TDs), Production Managers, and cross‑functional AV partners to operate advanced video systems for BlackRock’s live events and broadcasts. This includes leading video operations in permanent installations, assisting with event load‑ins and load‑outs, participating in rehearsals, and supporting complex productions across multiple venues. A strong familiarity with industry‑standard video equipment, routing workflows, and control platforms is critical. Experience with live streaming and virtual platforms such as Webex and Zoom is also highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional video experience supporting live events.
  • Ability to set up and operate professional video switching consoles (Barco E2, Ross Graphite preferred).
  • Expertise in video cabling, signal routing, patching, and Crestron control systems.
  • Familiarity with high‑end video equipment, including cameras, projectors, and LED walls.
  • Knowledge of hardware/software playback, recording systems, formats, and codecs.
  • Ability to direct camera operators and manage IMAG workflows, including CCU/RCP and shading.
  • Strong computer literacy (Windows & macOS) and general networking understanding.
  • Basic competency with graphics/creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, and Keynote.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong time‑management abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure live event environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility regarding varied schedules, long hours, and shifting priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with live streaming and virtual platforms such as Webex and Zoom is also highly desirable.
  • Experience with systems such as vMix, Watchout, Millumin, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise videoconferencing systems beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and help implement professional video solutions for high‑end live events and conferences using systems such as Barco E2 screen management and Ross Graphite switchers.
  • Support permanent‑install facilities and collaborate with system engineers on video infrastructure improvements.
  • Set up, operate, and strike video equipment across BlackRock event spaces.
  • Coordinate closely with Graphics Operators, Projectionists, Playback Operators, A1s, and Lighting Designers (LD).
  • Provide basic graphics and technical support where needed.
  • Ensure event spaces and production areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist with special projects, including researching and recommending video equipment for future needs.
  • Contribute to the proposal and planning process, including support for RFPs and equipment quotes.
  • Take on additional duties as required in support of global production operations.
