About The Position

BlackRock is seeking a Lead Audio Engineer (A1) to support advanced audio systems across our corporate environment. This role operates within our in‑house production, events, and broadcast teams, supporting high‑profile meetings, live events, and studio productions. The position is based primarily at our permanent installation in New York City, with occasional travel as needed. The ideal candidate will have an Associate‑level degree in a technology‑related field and/or a minimum of 4 years of professional experience specializing in audio engineering and live production. We are looking for someone with exceptional client service skills and a strong understanding of audio workflows in both live event and studio environments.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Operate digital audio mixing consoles—including Allen & Heath, Yamaha, and Behringer—across live conferences and live/pre‑recorded studio productions.
  • Manage and troubleshoot wireless microphone systems, PA setups, and audio equalization.
  • Utilize and support Dante and Dugan systems.
  • Execute professional microphone placement for both on-air and on-stage talent.
  • Integrate audio systems with broader AV and collaboration platforms, including Webex, Zoom, and enterprise video‑conferencing solutions.
  • Diagnose issues quickly and make rapid decisions during live productions, including implementing system redundancies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of AV and IT technologies and emerging capabilities.
  • Interpret AV system flow diagrams and supporting documentation.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Remain calm and effective under pressure at all times.
  • Work independently as a self‑starter while collaborating well with colleagues of all seniority levels.
  • Manage tight deadlines and variable schedules, including long hours when needed.
