About The Position

The Video Editor will be a key contributor within Fortune Brands Innovations internal creative agency, Creative X. This individual will be responsible for crafting high-quality video content that supports brand storytelling, product marketing, and enterprise initiatives across a diverse portfolio of businesses. This role partners closely with producers, motion designers, CGI artists, copywriters, and brand stakeholders to transform footage and creative concepts into compelling, on-brand visual narratives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical editing skills with creative judgment, efficiency, and the ability to operate within established brand systems and fast-paced corporate workflows. Location: This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule based at our Deerfield, IL campus with remote work flexibility Mondays and Fridays. This is NOT a remote role.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 3+ years of professional video editing experience (preferably within an agency or in-house creative team) OR...
  • High School Diploma and 7+ years of professional video editing experience (preferably within an agency or in-house creative team)
  • Proficiency in industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder)
  • Experience incorporating motion graphics into edited video
  • Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual rhythm across short-form and long-form content
  • Experience working within brand guidelines and adapting creative assets for multiple channels and audiences
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with creative and non-creative partners
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in structured, process-driven environments

Responsibilities

  • Edit and assemble video content for a wide range of deliverables, including product features, brand videos, social media assets, internal communications, and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with producers, motion designers, and creative leads to interpret briefs and deliver edits aligned with creative direction and brand standards.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing timelines, feedback cycles, and shifting priorities in a high-volume production environment.
  • Perform color correction, audio cleanup, basic motion graphics integration, and versioning for various platforms and formats.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback efficiently while maintaining creative integrity and attention to detail.
  • Organize project files, maintain version control, and follow established workflows to ensure consistency and scalability.

  • A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $55,000 USD - $88,000 USD.
