About The Position

GDIT is seeking a talented and creative Video Editor and Motion Graphics Specialist to join our award winning-marketing team. This dynamic role requires someone who can rapidly produce compelling, platform-optimized video content for diverse channels including social media, websites, digital advertising, tradeshows, and events. The ideal candidate has strong visual storytelling ability, with exceptional motion graphics and video editing skills and the ability to deliver high-quality content under tight deadlines. This hybrid role requires working onsite out of our Falls Church, VA office at least 3 days a week. MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT Deliver compelling and high impact video and animated graphics that support marketing campaigns, sports marketing partnerships, brand storytelling and internal communications Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project goals and translate ideas into engaging narratives and storytelling opportunities with final products that align to brand guidelines Pre-production and video project planning including storyboarding, footage and audio selection and creative storytelling ideation. Video editing to include cutting footage, color grading, adding graphics, animating text, and editing audio to create a final product. Support videographer to capture video including moving heavy equipment, managing studio lighting setups, monitoring audio, and other on-site logistics. Ability to customize video content for various marketing channels with best practices to drive engagement. Including website, social media, digital ads, events, tradeshows and internal communications. Stay abreast of current video trends and bring an innovative mindset to each project. Ability to work in fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering high-quality designs within specified deadlines. Work collaboratively across the team to seek and action feedback. Work on projects outside of main role occasionally including recording and editing podcasts and photographing corporate events. The Video Editor and Motion Graphics Specialist must have: Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience or 6+ years of related work experience in lieu of degree Proficient in Mac and Windows platforms Strong grasp on filming, composition and editing video in alignment with corporate branding standards Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition) Excellent time management and organizational skills Strong collaboration, customer service, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and rapidly shifting environment As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide a portfolio of your work

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience or 6+ years of related work experience in lieu of degree
  • Proficient in Mac and Windows platforms
  • Strong grasp on filming, composition and editing video in alignment with corporate branding standards
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition)
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong collaboration, customer service, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and rapidly shifting environment

Nice To Haves

  • Photography experience
  • Experience in capturing video is a plus, however training can be provided: including operating professional or prosumer cameras, managing on‑site or studio lighting setups, monitoring and capturing clean audio with microphones or field recorders, and recording interviews or B‑roll footage to support storytelling needs.
  • Working knowledge of 3D graphics tools is a plus
  • Experience working in a large corporate environment highly preferred
