About The Position

The Video Editing Assistant is responsible for the assembly and editing of source material into a finished video product. The Video Editing Assistant is responsible for the filming and camera operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in post-production facility, preferred. At least one (1) year of experience with video production and editing is preferred.
  • Experience in production editing and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of various video editing software.
  • Exceptional organizational ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, make decisions, and assume responsibility within the essential and specific position functions.
  • Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing technology.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Needs vivid imagination, artistic eye, and creative mindset.
  • Flexibility to adapt to urgent projects of unusual situations
  • Member in good standing of the Seventh-day Adventist Church abiding by its beliefs and values.
  • Must understand the basic theory and have familiarity with broadcast editing equipment and general knowledge of video production.
  • Must be capable of using sound judgement while accepting direction from others.
  • Ability to solve technical problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a non-profit organization environment, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Edit television video and soundtracks as requested by
  • Evaluate and select scenes for dramatic and entertainment value and story continuity.
  • Trim program segments to specified lengths and reassemble segments into a sequence that presents the story with maximum effect.
  • Review assembled program and make corrections.
  • Assist with selecting music/background effects and video clips for radio and TV
  • Produce and edit promotional and training clips for TV and radio to be used on social media, in Evangelism, lay training and other
  • Photograph events and programs for promotional material.
  • Must be able to perform the specific position functions listed above and as assigned by leadership.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel and others concerning recording of scenes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
