About The Position

Palm Beach County's Victim Services Division is seeking an experienced professional to provide short- and long-term strategic planning and oversight of special projects, grant deliverables and contracted services. This position is responsible for providing monthly, quarterly, annual and other statistical reports to assist in evaluating the Division's performance. Other responsibilities include planning, organizing and managing the activities of professional, technical and clerical staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or related field with demonstrated research and communication skills; minimum of seven (7) years of experience of increased responsibility in victim services or closely related field and two (2) years of experience assigning, coordinating and directing the work of others, or
  • Unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of nine (9) years of experience of increased responsibility in victim services or closely related field and two (2) years of experience assigning, coordinating and directing the work of others, or
  • Associate's Degree in Public Administration, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Sociology, or related field with demonstrated research and communication skills; minimum of nine (9) years of experience of increased responsibility in victim services or closely related field and two (2) years of experience assigning, coordinating and directing the work of others, or
  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of 11 years of experience of increased responsibility in victim services or closely related field and two (2) years of experience assigning, coordinating and directing the work of others.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in administering and supervising a social service or government agency, and
  • Experience in oversight of contracts and administering grant-related activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages Division contracts and grants.
  • Prepares and compiles reports and assists in data collection and analysis.
  • Provides information and training in all victim service areas to law enforcement, professionals, colleagues and officials in the criminal justice system.
  • Keeps abreast of latest research by studying and applying knowledge in all areas of crime victimology, related Florida laws, criminal justice system and social/legal referrals.
  • Serves as administrator for internal case management system.
  • Reviews all division invoices/requisitions for budget accuracy and approval.
