THE VICTIM ADVOCATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR Our ideal candidate has experience in a similar victim or witness coordination role, has worked with grants before, and has solid de-escalation and conflict resolution skills. Some individuals will be dealing with traumatic situations, so an understanding attitude is a must. Experience with court or law enforcement computer programs (Odyssey, JustWare, SAVIN, etc.) would be beneficial. ARE YOU THE RIGHT FIT TO BECOME OUR VICTIM ADVOCATE? You'll provide exceptional support and emotional comfort to individuals who are victims or witnesses in criminal cases, offering a sensitive, empathetic approach. You'll independently meet with these individuals to go over their cases, serve as a reassuring presence, and liaise with them and the prosecutors as the case moves through the criminal justice system. Throughout the process, you'll keep victims and witnesses updated on court procedures and explain legal processes in clear language. You'll accurately enter data into our system and assist our team with grant applications when needed. Handling additional duties as assigned by the State's Attorney's Office, you'll ensure to maintain discretion, confidentiality, and compliance in everything you do.
