JOB SUMMARY The Instruction Designer will assist in the design, development, and production of effective learning solutions that align to the Learning and Development department projects and programs. Create compelling learning activities and course content, working with subject matter experts to identify training needs, applying design theories and methods, and utilizing multimedia tools to enhance the learning process. They will also conduct institutional research, assist in the development of assessment instruments, and maintain project documentation for effective course development.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in instructional design and with instructional technology.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
  • Working knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and digital collaboration tools (e.g. One Drive).
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, analytical, and project management skills, to include meeting project deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in writing original content and editing legacy materials.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Suite, Capture Software, Captivate, Canva, Blackboard, Graphic Design, and similar technologies.
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
  • Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, edits, and maintain instructional content via multiple modalities consistent with synchronous, and asynchronous learning principles (e.g., eLearning, tip sheets, and instructor-led training).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders at all levels and disciplines across the organization to develop educational content to include guides, job aids, and self-paced e-learning.
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content applying tested instructional design theories, practice and methods.
  • Decide on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments.
  • Provide support in the administration of comprehensive training needs assessments for various learning requests and needs.
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders.
  • Research and evaluate emerging learning technologies and approaches.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
