About The Position

Then you could be exactly who we are looking for. We are updating and re-factoring our technology stack in order to broaden our cloud adoption and use of generative AI. We are seeking a visionary and results-oriented Vice President of Engineering to lead our Data Services engineering group. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the overall technical and database strategy, architecture, and execution of our product roadmap. Collaborating closely with the executive team, you will foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement, driving us towards achieving our ambitious business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years in software engineering leadership roles, managing teams of 50+ globally distributed engineers across multi-country/cultural teams.
  • Proven ability to define and execute a clear technology vision and strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong technical background with deep understanding of agile development methodologies, architectural patterns, and best practices.
  • Prior experience designing and building enterprise class applications using microservices and public cloud tech stacks (e.g., on AWS, Azure), REST APIs, and data warehouse & BI systems, is strongly preferred. Core database and ETL technologies include Oracle, Greenplum, Databricks and Informatica and experience in one or more of these areas is desired.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle, languages like Java/Python preferred along with knowledge of modern UI frameworks (Angular,React )
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience utilizing metrics to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor a high-performing team of 70+ engineers, including managers, architects, and individual contributors.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive team to define and execute the overall technology strategy, aligning engineering efforts with business objectives.
  • Champion a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives and encourages professional growth.
  • Work on exciting, high-impact projects that directly contribute to the success of our platform and business strategy.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Drive the implementation of innovative software solutions using clean architecture principles, modern frameworks, languages, and platforms.
  • Define and implement engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on system architecture, design patterns, and technology selection.
  • Ensure the development of scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems that can support future growth.
  • Establish and track key engineering metrics to measure team performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Present key technical concepts and updates to C-suite executives and stakeholders.
  • Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployment and operation of software systems.
